K9K ENGINE

This is a historic engine for the Renault group. Produced since the early 2000s, it equipped the second series of the Renault Clio and was available in two versions: 65HP and 80HP.

The engine was derived from the K series petrol engines, with which it shared the block and the crankcase, with appropriate modifications the bore was reduced from 79.5mm to 76mm, thus bringing the displacement to 1461cm3.

Another aspect, but no less important, is the adoption of a Common Rail injection system, specific injectors and KKK turbocharger.

Over the years this engine has been proposed in different versions, starting from the 65hp of the first version to the 115hp of the latest DCi Energy engines (with braking energy recovery and Start & Stop) or BlueDCi (with AdBlue system), passing from turbochargers, fixed geometry to variable geometry ones, improving performance and engine response.

Thanks to ECM and the KESSv2 and K-TAG protocols, you can further improve the engine performance by intervening on the management available on the drivers.

In the new Driver updates, you will have the possibility to modify and improve your customer’s Nissan and Renault cars, working on the main groups of editable maps on petrol engines:

  • Torque Limiter
  • Injection timing
  • Smoke Limiter
  • Injected fuel quantity and fuel limiter
  • Rail pressure and limiters
  • Turbo pressure and limiters

Optimize engine performance by editing the new maps for Continental SID301 and SID305.

Better Performance? Take action on torque management to make the vehicle more responsive, on turbo to increase turbocharger pressure and on rail and injection to optimize combustion and increase torque and power output.
